Perusall is an online tool for collaboratively reviewing course materials. There is a good intro at https://perusall.com/about. This may hit the sweet spot of engaging people to view materials beforehand without it feeling like a burden. So let’s try it out!
Instructor getting started
Create account as instructor
Create a course
Save the course code
Upload a pdf (takes 1-2 minutes to upload)
Go to document and add comments (1st time there will be a “Tour”
Getting students
Students getting started
Ask students to sign up for account
Enroll in course; give the course code to students
Directions:
Go to document (in Library, on left)
1st time will get shown a “Tour”
Make comments - highlight text then add comment on right
Response to existing comments by selecting them in the text, and adding comments on right
