OSA, Obesity, Hypertension Study

About:

Studying the three way relationship between OSA severity, obesity, and hypertension. I am analyzing the relative importance of obesity and hypertension on the severity of OSA. I am investigating if addressing blood pressure is a better way of treating OSA rather than addressing obesity.

Completed:

-Choosing participants for study

-Analyzed the correlation between blood pressure and obesity in relation to OSA severity

-Analyzed the change in blood pressure during valsalva task in a subset of data

Currently Working On:

-Writing introduction and background for the study

To Do/Goals:

-Learn how to analyze MRIs

-Analyze MRIs in order to find a potential mechanism of action behind a potential causal link between two of the factors.

-Complete paper to present at Undergraduate Research Week (Spring 2024)
