Physiology Room Meeting 20130905 w/ updates

  • CNAP Machine
    • Use main screen to set alarm defaults
    • Put arm cuff on one arm and finger cuff on alternate limb (so when you recalibrate you continue to receive a signal)
    • Set higher extremes so the alarms don't go off as often
  • Respiration belt
    • Place on subject so that it's not too tight but that it's firm on exhale
  • GSR
    • Use medical tape to close off gap on electrode around finger (create a tab to pull off easy)
    • Have subjects wash their hands – no oils on their skin
  • ECG
    • Keep electrodes away from muscle
    • Wires
      • Red: lower left
      • White: upper right
      • Black: reference/ground
    • Electrodes: exfoliate skin beneath electrodes?

*It is recommended to remove the leads from the transmitters between use

Questions & To Do:

  • Do we want EOG measurements on both eyes or just one?
  • How to add rear digital channels (buttons pad)?
  • Do we need to exfoliate for electrodes?
  •  Do we need to order any NuPrep or Elpads for electrodes?  cotton pads, alcohol pads?
  • What about hair on men's chests for ecg?
    • Get razors?
  • We may need to order wrist straps (BIONOMADIX STRAP 33CM - BN-STRAP-33)

To get signal for handgrip:

At the front of the UIM connect a positive/negative monophonic jack output cable into the channel that is assigned to the Dyno Channel (Channel 3) and then connect this cable to our indicator box.
