By default, PowerPoint may down-sample images. To stop this, change the settings in Options:

To save PNG/jpeg files in higher resolution, use this registry fix:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\PowerPoint\Options
- Click the Options subkey, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD Value.
- Type ExportBitmapResolution, and then press Enter.
- Make sure that ExportBitmapResolution is selected, and then click Modify on the Edit menu.
- In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, click Decimal.
- In the Value data box, type the value of the resolution that you want such as 300. Or, use the parameters in the following table.

Under the Design tab, go to Slide Size
Enter the slide size
Note that the largest size PowerPoint will do is 56", so you may need to scale down larger sizes.
Slide Sorter View
With PowerPoint, Alt + V, then:
- D to go to the slide sorter
- L to go back to the normal view
You could also add the slide sorter and normal view to the "quick access toolbar", and then access them with Alt + 3, Alt + 4 (depends on the order of the toolbar).
