Increasing the LinuxVM disk space
- Open VMware Player or WMware Workstation, and select Linux VM.
- Make sure LimuxVm is turned off.
- Click "Edit virtual machine settings".
- Under Hardware tab, select "Hard Disk (SCSI)"
- Under the Utilities pull-down menu, select Expand
- Increase the "Maximum disk size (GB)" by the size of the swap space you want (e.g., for 100GB of swap, add 100GB).
- Click Expand
- Close the Settings GUI
The LinuxVM now has available the additional space (400GB in the example). The operating system needs to be reconfigured to use this space (next steps).
