Create a swap partition

Create a swap partition

  • In the Disk Utility, select free space
  • Click "Create Partition"

  • Select the "Type" pull-down menu

  • Choose "Swap Space"

  • You can name the volume "swap", then click "Create"; authenticate with root password ("data")

The swap partition is created, and now needs to be added to the partition table, and mounted (next steps).
